It was published in Official Gazette of the Federal District (DODF) This Wednesday (25th) Law No. 7,494, of April 24, 2024, which creates Traffic Agent Day, to be celebrated annually on May 11th. The Law authored by district deputy Eduardo Pedrosa is in line with Federal Law No. 14,594/2023, which established National Traffic Agents Day.

May 11th was chosen because it was the day of the beginning of the First Decade of Action for Traffic Safety, established by the United Nations (UN) in 2011, considered a milestone for road safety in Brazil and the world by establishing targets for reducing traffic accidents and other actions aimed at harmonious and safe traffic.
