Porsche driver antagonizes friend, denies drinking alcohol and says he didn’t notice the speed

The businessman, and now fugitive from justice, Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, aged 24, accused of driving drunk, crashing a Porsche into the back of another vehicle and killing an app driver on March 31, stated this Sunday (5) that he did not drink alcohol and did not have the feeling that he was speeding. The court ordered his preventive detention on Friday (3) and, since then, he has been wanted by the Civil Police.

Fernando gave an interview to Fantástico, on TV Globo, hours before his arrest was ordered. With the presence of the defense team, the businessman stated that he only drank water throughout the night. “I didn’t consume [bebida alcoólica]. I didn’t drink in the first room, I didn’t drink in the poker room either,” she said. Guided by the defense, Fernando did not comment on the testimony of other witnesses who said he drank.

Fernando was also asked about his speed on the road that allows a limit of 50 km/h. According to forensics, when it hit app driver Ornaldo Viana’s car, the Porsche, valued at R$1.3 million, was traveling at 114 km/h. Moments before the collision, he ran even faster: 156 km/h.

When trying to explain why he was at this speed, Fernando preferred to abstain. He also denied receiving traffic tickets for speeding and participating in street races. However, his DMV record says otherwise. Surveys by the report pointed to fines for speeding in Ceará and race disputes on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo.

Asked why he didn’t go to the hospital after the police released him, the businessman said he went home to get his health insurance card, got nervous and ended up receiving medication from his mother. “When I get home, I’m very out of control, I’m very nervous about everything that’s happening and then she gives me some medicine. Then I delete it,” he said.

Sastre Filho sent a message to the victim’s family. “I thought about that [em algo para dizer para a família], I imagined it as if it were with my father, there is nothing I can do or say that will bring him back. The only thing would be a sincere apology, from the heart”, said Fernando.
