Amid the expansion of its distribution centers, the online retailer Shopee opened another logistics hub, now in Palmas, capital of Tocantins. It is the company’s second space to establish territory in the North of the country. The first began operating in 2023 in Belém, Pará. The company did not reveal the amount invested.

According to the retailer, the new space operates on the last mile model, in which goods pass to be routed and forwarded to buyers. The objective, Shopee said in a statement, is to be closer to sellers and consumers in the region and “optimize the connections of the north-south connection on the Goiânia-Belém axis, passing through Brasília and Maranhão as well”.

“We want to further boost the local economy, generating jobs and opportunities for partners”, commented, in a note, Rafael Flores, head of logistics expansion at the company.
