During the Order of the Day this Thursday (25), parliamentarians from the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (ALEMS) analyzed three propositions. Highlightingly, Bill 242 of 2022, authored by deputy Lucas de Lima (PDT), was approved in its final draft, which deals with the validity period of medical-expert reports attesting to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other irreversible deficiencies .

The project guarantees people with ASD and other irreversible disabilities the right to obtain updated reports, thus guaranteeing the maintenance and possible review of the benefits provided for in state legislation. It is proposed that the reports be valid for an indefinite period of time to obtain benefits for people with disabilities, in accordance with current legislation. Furthermore, for educational purposes, the reports will only identify the student’s condition, with the need for specialized school assistance being assessed by the institution.

In a second discussion, Bill 84 of 2024, authored by the Board of Directors, was debated. This project provides for a 2.2% increase in the salaries of Legislative Branch employees, increasing the food allowance from R$800.00 to R$1,000.00 and the transportation allowance from R$500.00 to R$700 .00.

Finally, in a single discussion, Bill 71 of 2024 was presented, giving the name to the Jury Court room of the Forum of the district of Paranaíba. This proposal pays tribute to judge José Benedicto de Figueiredo, who also served as a prosecutor in that location. He was appointed to serve as judge of the Court of Justice in the vacancy reserved for the Public Ministry, taking office on August 2, 1990 and retiring on September 30, 2003.
