A worker died after being attacked by a jaguar this Wednesday (24), while repairing the fence of a farm in the region of Pontal do Borges, a rural area in the municipality of Tapurah, 390 km from Cuiabá.
According to the Civil Police, other employees at the property missed the victim, went looking for him and found tracks on the ground that led into the woods.
According to the police, the animal dragged the worker’s body for around 300 meters to the edge of the Borges River, which is close to the site. The victim He showed signs of deep scratches and was missing one of his hands.
Some people in the neighborhood told the police that they had already seen jaguar cubs in the area.
The Official Expertise and Technical Identification (Politec) of Sorriso was called to collect possible evidence. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
