The top of the LOUD League of Legends team, Leonardo “Robo”, classified the defeat to Vietnamese GAM Esports, which eliminated the Brazilian representative from MSI 2024 this Saturday (4), as “very disappointing and sad”. In an interview with blogthe player defined the Brazilian campaign as “horrible” and said that the team felt the upset they suffered in the second match and entered without the same energy for the third duel.

— I’m very upset, disappointed, disappointed. It was very disappointing and sad. I think we were fully capable of beating them. If we played our game, we would be able to win — lamented Robo, in the interview given shortly after the setback at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) held in Chengdu, China.

MSI 2024: “It was very disappointing and sad”, says Robo after elimination for GAM

In the best of three games (md3) confrontation, LOUD took the lead by winning the first of them, but, despite having a large advantage in the second, suffered a comeback and lost.

— The second game, when we trolled the bot, was a moment that really complicated the rhythm we were at in the series. It really affected me to hand over that game, which was basically won. It was very difficult to deliver, and we managed to deliver.

Robo says he started with less energy in the 3rd game after being upset in the 2nd by GAM

In the third and decisive match, GAM started much better and dominated from the beginning. For Robo, LOUD entered with low energy due to the turnaround it suffered in the previous game.

— After the play in the second game, I think it shook everyone up a lot. I didn’t feel like we had the same energy as the other two games. I felt that our energy dropped a little, and that caused our level to drop a little. Decision-making got a little worse,” he commented.

— The early game was really very complicated. They opened up a lot of gold at the beginning, and then it became very difficult, because we didn’t have many tools to stop their flank, and they had a very strong Zeri that melted our front line very quickly. The game became very difficult. I think that if we played our game and played our best, we would be able to win with the draft. It wasn’t the draft’s fault. We just played really badly.

Robo classifies LOUD’s campaign at MSI 2024 as horrible and sees its worst campaign

It was LOUD’s worst campaign in the four international championships it played, since it began to dominate the Brazilian scene and amend a sequence of four CBLOL titles, in the 2nd Split of 2022. Seven-time Brazilian champion Robo, who played seven international tournaments, believes that The performance was also his worst career.

— I don’t know if it was the worst [das equipes brasileiras], but perhaps, in my career, it was the worst. I don’t know in general. I don’t remember them all. It was one of the most frustrating for me. I haven’t felt this frustration yet, because we left the game and came straight to the interviews, so I didn’t have time to digest it. But, I believe it was the worst of my career, yes. But I’m not 100% sure either, I have to breathe, think a little and calm down and I can know better if it was really the worst or not.

Either way, Robo defined LOUD’s performance in Chengdu as horrible.

— Horrible, there’s no other word. Against TES we knew it would be a very difficult game, and we tried our best and even managed to have a good game against them. Against GAM, we expected to come away with victory and we were unable to defeat them, even with a good advantage, especially in the second game. This performance was pretty horrible.

Robo agrees that victory against GAM was a must: “I expected much more”

— I particularly looked at it, yes [como obrigação vencer a GAM]. They traded, if I’m not mistaken, two or three players. I know they switched. Less top and jungle, I’m sure they were the usual ones. I expected that we would be able to play much better than we did, mainly due to the training we were doing in those four days. It was quite disappointing.

— I expected much more from myself, I expected much more from the team, I expected much more from everything we had evolved, that we could show, but we didn’t. I’m just really sad.

Robo talks about the continuity of the LOUD cast: “I have no idea”

Asked if the tough elimination could have an impact on the continuity of the squad for the 2nd Split of the season, Robo said it was too early to know.

— We left the game and came straight here. We weren’t expecting this defeat. It was a very tough defeat. I haven’t talked to anyone yet. As soon as the game ended, we couldn’t talk, talk, do anything. I don’t know if it will affect anything, we’ll find out. I don’t think it does, but it may or may not have affected someone a little more than me. We have to wait and digest. Nobody had time to digest it. It was all very fast. Then we’ll see what will happen, because I have no idea.
