Sixty-one young residents of the Calabar neighborhood, in Salvador, aged between 16 and 29, received, this Wednesday, 24, a certificate of training in three professional courses through the Trilha and Qualifica Bahia programs, actions of the Secretariat of Work, Employment, Income and Sport (Setre) which are part of the State Government’s Bahia pela Paz program.

The ceremony took place in the courtyard next to the Calabar Military Police community base and was attended by the vice-governor, Geraldo Jr. and the secretaries of Setre, Davidson Magalhães and Public Security, Marcelo Werner, as well as the superintendent of the Secretariat of Policies for Women, Camila Batista.

Among them, 19 were qualified in the Building Installation Electrician course and 29 in hairdressing/makeup and supermarket operator, through Qualifica Bahia; and 13 received professional certification for installing and repairing computer networks through the Trilha program. Open paths

Estefani Brasil, 25 years old, is one of the women qualified in professional hairdressing and makeup. “The course was very good, we learned a lot of makeup and hair practices, with professional techniques. Now, I’m going to start putting the curriculum in the salons so I can really practice everything we’ve learned. First we need to work for someone and then I will try to have my own business. This course opened up many paths I can follow,” she said.

My friend, Emily Santos, 19 years old, intends to offer professional makeup services among acquaintances and in the neighborhood: “I want to start earning my money”. Another young person certified was William Bispo dos Santos, 19 years old, who intends to pursue a career as an electrician.

“It was wonderful. I was able to learn several techniques that I didn’t know, it helped a lot because nowadays I do some services myself”. He says that he now intends to take more courses to further qualify in the area. “Through this course I had a different view of the world and today I understand that the more qualified I am, the better it will be for me, in my life, and for society as a whole”, he said.

Young people will have priority in labor intermediation

All graduates will be sent to register with the labor intermediation service, SineBahia, to facilitate the entry of young professionals into the job market, announced secretary Davidson Magalhães.

“I want to tell you who participated in this qualification that, now, right after here we are going to register everyone in SineBahia, so that they have priority in the intermediation of labor that will emerge, because the work is to qualify and we will also enable generation of job. We are going to register all of you at Sine because this is how vacancies at Sine are opening up, you are already being called on those priority lists to be incorporated into the job market. This is our government’s effort to generate jobs and income in Salvador and Bahia”, said the secretary.

The vice-governor, Geraldo Jr., said the two programs, Trilha and Qualifica, will undergo an increase in the budget in 2024, which will allow them to reach the state’s 27 identity territories.
