Analysis carried out by the Economic Information Center of the Federation of Industries of the State of Sergipe (FIES), based on data from the Central Bank, revealed that the total balance of credit operations in Sergipe amounted to R$34.1 billion, in February 2024 .
The operations include: loans, financing, advances and leasing, granted by institutions that are part of the National Financial System (SFN) that operate in the state.
In comparative terms, the volume of credit granted grew by 10.0% when compared to February 2023. In relation to last January, there was a decrease of 0.02%.
Credit distribution in February/2024
Of the total amount of credit granted in the month under analysis, R$26.8 billion were allocated to individuals, registering growth of 11.2%, compared to the same month in 2023. This amount represents 78.6% of the total credits granted in February. An increase was also recorded when compared to the immediately previous month, January/2024, of 0.3%.
For legal entities, credit taking totaled around R$7.3 billion, covering 21.4% of the total balance. In relative terms, there was a decrease of 1.3% compared to last January. In comparison with February 2023, there was growth of 5.8%.
Default in February/2024
The general default rate for credit operations, which includes late payments of more than ninety days, covered 3.94% of contracts. For legal entities, this rate was 3.48%, while for individuals, it was 4.07%.
