Mossoró now has the first Catholic University of Rio Grande do Norte
The Ministry of Education approved the transformation of the Diocesan Catholic College of Mossoró into the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Norte. The institution is part of the education network of the Diocese of Santa Luzia de Mossoró. Announcement made this Tuesday

The Ministry of Education approved the transformation of the Diocesan Catholic College of Mossoró into the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Norte – Unicatólica/RN. The announcement was made by governor @fatimabezerra13 and priest @charleslamartine, accompanied by minister Camilo Santana.
Now University, the institution of the education network of the Diocese of Santa Luzia de Mossoró will begin the process of expanding courses and increasing the scope of higher education. Read more at defato.com
On her social networks, the governor wrote:
“As a teacher and as governor, it is an immense joy to see this dream becoming a reality. We follow this fight closely, we know how serious and committed this institution is to the education of our youth. This is a beautiful tribute that we dedicate to the first director of the Faculty, the eternal Father Sátiro, who fought so hard for this. Receive this gift wherever you are, my dear!”
Father Charles remembered the struggle of Father Sátiro Cavalcanti Dantas (died in November 2023), Father Flávio Augusto and everyone who contributed to making a dream come true.
