AL bus workers reject counterproposal and ask for 7.5% adjustment

-

In a meeting held this Monday (22), at the headquarters of the Alagoas Road Workers Union (Sinttro-AL), urban public transport workers in Maceió and intermunicipal transport in Alagoas rejected the counter-proposal of a 6% salary increase presented by the transport companies. bus.

The category’s claim is 7.5%, and the percentage can be divided into two installments, and 7.5% on the food ticket, immediately. If the request is not met, the workers will go on strike.

The strategy adopted by Sinttro-AL is one of progressive gains for the category. To achieve this, the tactic applied at the negotiation table is to divide the adjustment into two installments, with the inflation correction readjusted immediately (4.5%) and the real gain in September (3%).

Still according to the entity, the proposal is positive for workers, as the sum of the two installments results in a progressive increase in salary, being viable for the employer, since the installments will allow companies to achieve financial balance.

For the president, Sandro Reges, the measures taken by the union always aim for the best for workers and are within the local budgetary reality.

“Our board, in constant dialogue with the base, always finds a positive alternative for road workers. There is no point in defending a proposal that is out of reality. Our proposals are always viable, which is why we have accumulated so many victories over the last few years”, explained the director.

In addition to the salary agenda, the union is fighting to have the Collective Bargaining Agreement agree on the regulation of 30 minutes of break time during the workday; the driver must remain on the same work schedule for at least 30 days; and a 40% advance on salary until the 20th of each month.
