A 39-year-old man convicted by the courts of embezzling R$365,000 was arrested this Tuesday morning (23) in Paraíso do Tocantins, in the central region of the state. The conviction was in 2021, but the arrest warrant was only issued by the courts last week.
According to the Civil Police, at the time he committed the crimes of money laundering and embezzlement, he was the financial coordinator of Sesc Tocantins, a position he held between 2015 and 2019.
The institution said that upon discovering the crimes it brought it to the attention of the authorities and that it trusts the work of Justice. (Read the full note below).
According to the Civil Police, at the time of his arrest, the man identified by the initials CVO was carrying out commercial activity at a gas station in the city center. O g1 he couldn’t make contact with his defense.
The man was sentenced in November 2021 to more than six years in prison, after the Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a complaint based on investigations carried out by the Specialized Corruption Repression Division (DECOR – Palmas).
