Companies that operate with chemical products in Minas Gerais are inspected by the PF
The Federal Police in Minas Gerais launched operation Higeia this Tuesday morning (23), whose objective is to inspect in a large-scale action more than 70 companies that operate with chemical products in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.
The aim is to avoid diversion of inputs used in the manufacture and refining of the most diverse types of illicit drugs
Teams of federal police simultaneously carry out inspection orders at companies that produce, use or transact chemical products. The aim is to avoid diversion of inputs used in the manufacture and refining of the most diverse types of illicit drugs.
These inputs can be called adulterants or precursors. Precursors are chemical substances essential for the manufacture of illegal drugs. These are products controlled by laws and regulations to prevent their diversion into the production of illicit drugs. Adulterants are chemical substances added to products to increase their quantity, potency or effect, generating greater profit for organized crime.
The action aims to target drug trafficking by combating the misuse of chemical products that fuel their production capacity, which prevents the manufacture and consequent supply of the illicit substance.
With this action carried out on an unprecedented large scale, the Federal Police significantly expands the scope of its important preventive action against the diversion of chemical products and the consequent repression of illicit drug trafficking in Minas Gerais.
