Service at the sports complex began in 2022, by the same construction company responsible for the construction of the Beira-Rio stadium, in Porto Alegre (RS), in 1969, which is used by Internacional.

As defined in the planning, Barra’s new CT has five official size fields, three on synthetic grass and two on natural grass. The lawn will also feature natural grass.

In addition, it will have a reduced field, sports performance center, accommodation for 120 athletes, cafeteria, administrative building, support for employees and schools. The furniture for the space has been taken since the beginning of March this year.

The stadium will have eight boxes and grandstands that will have space for 5,000 people, in addition to 500 seats for visitors. In addition, the space will have changing rooms, an anti-doping and monitoring room with access to all the stadium’s cameras.

In recent images, it is possible to see the chairs installed in the stands in blue and the name “Barra”. In addition, the grass on the training center fields has already been installed and the administrative building has already been painted, with windows and doors installed.

Professional squad training should take place at the new training center from May.

However, the opening of the new stadium is expected to take a little longer. This is because the club will still need to resolve bureaucratic issues such as, for example, necessary permits to host games.

Barra’s objective is to use the stadium for official games starting from the final of the 1st phase of Series D of the 2024 Brazilian Championship, which takes place in July. Meanwhile, Pescador will host the national competition matches at the Gigantão das Avenidas stadium, in Itajaí, which belongs to Marcílio Dias.
