Riedel recognizes the role of public security in the development of MS – Politics

The governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), recognized the reduction in the rate of violence during the ceremony to award the 2024 Tiradentes Medal, late this Tuesday afternoon (23), in Campo Grande.

According to the PMMS (Military Police) survey, in 10 years there was a reduction of 88.1% in the number of cases of robbery, 37.9% of homicides, 52% of robberies, 40% of traffic deaths and 19% in vehicle theft.

The Tucano manager highlighted progress in public security, as well as in the infrastructure necessary to reduce crimes. “The numbers are robust, they play a movie in our heads of what happened in this state in these 10 years, not only in the PM, not only in public security, but in general. Mato Grosso do Sul grows practically twice the national average”, Riedel told the press.

Also according to the governor, the commitment to public security ensures that companies invest in the municipalities that make up the State. “[…] We have the third lowest rate of extreme poverty in Brazil and a business environment where we are increasingly able to attract jobs, companies, prosperity, development, infrastructure because we are doing our homework as a public policy.”

Riedel argued that new entrepreneurs are concerned about the reduction in cases shown by the data. “We are in a border state, we border two countries, five states and these businesspeople have confidence in what MS is capable of offering in terms of environment, order, public security and justice. This event reinforces the value of security , the inherent ethics, commitment, honor and credibility of the Mato Grosso police”, he concluded.
