Sergipe is present at the 6th Meeting of Brazilians at FGV Energia in Houston

Last Sunday, the 5th, a delegation from the State Government was present at the 6th edition of the Meeting of Brazilians, organized by the Center for Energy Studies at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV Energia), in Houston, Texas, USA. This event precedes the Offshore Technology Conference – OTC, one of the main annual meetings of the oil and gas (O&G) industry in the world. Led by the Secretary of State for Economic Development and Science and Technology (Sedetec), Valmor Barbosa, the delegation represents governor Fábio Mitidieri during this trip.

The Meeting is part of Sergipe’s agenda abroad, seeking to establish connections between Brazilians present at the OTC. “The Meeting of Brazilians serves as preparation for the OTC, providing an integrative and networking moment between representatives of sector institutions and state governments”, highlighted the Secretary of Sedetec. “It was a moment of great importance, where we were able to establish favorable contacts for the state and unite with leaders from other states and actors in the oil and gas segment”, added the president of the Sergipe Economic Development Company (Codise), Ronaldo Guimarães .

In addition to the secretary of Sedetec and the president of Codise, the Sergipe delegation in the United States includes the executive secretary of Sedetec, Marcelo Menezes; the CEO of Sergipe Gás (Sergas), José Matos; and the president of the Sergipe Public Services Regulatory Agency (Agrese), Luiz Hamilton. At the event, the Sergipe group was attended by the director of FGV Energia, Carlos Quintella, and the director-president of the Brazilian Petroleum Institute (IBP), Roberto Ardenghy.

OTC 2024

From the 6th to the 9th of May, the delegation from the Government of Sergipe will participate in OTC 2024, the world’s largest fair for the international oil and gas market. The event, also based in Houston, brings together energy sector professionals interested in exchanging information to advance scientific and technical knowledge of offshore resources.
