Referee Paulo Cesar Zanovelli da Silva reversed his decision to expel a Bragantino player after VAR interference
Flamengo drew 1-1 with Red Bull Bragantino on Saturday night (04), in the fifth round of the Brasileirão. After the game full of refereeing controversies, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released the VAR audios.
The dialogue is between the field referees, Paulo Cesar Zanovelli da Silva, and the VAR referee, Daniel Nobre Bins. In the conversation, the judges state that there was no lack of De la Cruz in Pedro Henrique, from Bragantino. Despite this, the referee defines the move as “accidental”.

However, the conversation continues and Daniel Nobre Bins tells Paulo Cesar Zanovelli that the “accidental situation causes harm” to Pedro Henrique, from Bragantino. Therefore, the field referee decides to withdraw the red card and call a foul on De La Cruz.

ARBITRATION CONTROVERSY
