The state public health network began offering pediatric teleconsultation services in the state.
The service was announced by the State Department of Health (SES), this Tuesday (23).
According to the ministry, the availability of this service is a strategy to assist professionals from the state network to discuss complex cases
Pediatric teleconsultations began on the 15th of this month.
During the service, carried out only remotely, the cases are discussed and then it is defined how to approach them in practice.
Also according to SES, with this format, the strategy is a guide for teams in the clinical management of patients in emergency or hospitalization situations, with the aim of providing guidance on patients’ conditions, optimizing and providing greater assertiveness to care and preventing worsening of cases. .
Teleconsultations take place between groups of professionals from across the State.
“One of the pillars of the Contingency Plan for Seasonal Respiratory Diseases in Childhood, launched this year by SES-PE, Pediatric Teleinterconsultation is made up of pediatricians from the state health network. They are able to discuss cases related to respiratory diseases in children, common in this seasonal period”, highlighted the SES in a note.
How will it work
According to SES, the Teleinterconsultation service provides pediatricians 24 hours a day, who serve professionals who are on the front line of care, guiding and directing appropriate care during the seasonal period, which began in March and lasts until August.
“Since we launched the Plan as a form of prevention, we have been preparing the health system as a whole daily to serve the population. This is a historic health demand, the increase in cases of respiratory diseases at this time. So, in addition to opening new beds, we have a series of ongoing actions, such as training professionals, organizing sentinel units in primary care and vaccination. This telehealth care from primary care, the infirmary and the hospital only reinforces our commitment”, explained State Health Secretary, Zilda Cavalcanti.
