Government of RN will hold Potiguar Literary Circuit in the second semester

From the second half of 2024, Rio Grande do Norte will have an event that will encourage access to books and reading. The Ministry of Culture will support the Potiguar Literary Circuit, which will include literary festivals that will tour 16 municipalities where the regional education directorates (DIRECs) are based.

The completion of the circuit is part of the regulatory process of the National Reading and Writing Policy (PNLE) and the National Textbook Program (PNLD), including Public and Community Libraries, undertaken by the Lula Government. “Brazil really needs reading and access to books. We thank Minc for what we are obtaining to carry out our Potiguar literary circuit, which will begin in the second semester. We will visit all the RN hub cities where the Direcs are headquartered. This way, we will have culture and education hand in hand”, concluded the governor.

A total of 16 literary festivals will take place in the host cities of the Regional Education Directorates (DIREC) with a broad program made up of diverse activities developed in the areas of arts, education and culture.

The initiative that unites education, art and culture in order to value and contribute to the expansion of interest in literature in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, when idealizing the event, we assessed the need to actively contribute to the cultural enrichment of the school community, students , teachers and family members, as well as the population in general, taking into account the work carried out within schools, the work of artists from Rio Grande do Norte, writers, poets and thinkers of national literature.
