Investigated in two investigations for sexual harassment, former director of Procon de SC says that complaints are reprisals | Santa Catarina

Four days after being dismissed from Santa Catarina’s Procon due to allegations of sexual harassment, the organization’s former director Roberto Salum spoke out for the first time this Wednesday (3). In a video, he said that the accusations are a reprisal. The Civil Police, however, investigates it in two investigations.

The dismissal occurred on Saturday (30), after a woman reported in a police report that she was grabbed and kissed without consent during a ride to the State Administrative Center, which was allegedly diverted. On Monday (1st), a new complaint came to the attention of the police.

In a video, Salum stated that “he is being the victim of reprisals after discovering a million-dollar hole in the State Procon”.

He said he had evidence that former director Tiago Silva had embezzled money from the agency, and that he took the complaint to the State Attorney General’s Office (PGE/SC) and the Public Ministry of Santa Catarina (MPSC).

In the publication, he states that the accusations of moral and sexual harassment appeared only after he made the allegations and that they were a hoax to bring him down.

In a statement, Tiago Silva says that he was surprised by the video and that the accusation against him would be a strategy to “try to divert the focus from the serious allegations of which Salum is the target, underestimating the intelligence of society and, above all, of press professionals”.

PGE/SC informed that a three-page letter was filed on March 8 and will be sent to the Attorney General of Justice. The document, according to the agency, only contains reports of suspected damage caused to the Damaged Property Recovery Fund (FRBL), a matter under the responsibility of the MPSC.

The MPSC reported that the complaint was filed by Salum at the 27th Public Prosecutor’s Office in Florianópolis, but that he had not presented the requested evidence.

Roberto Salum was reported to the Civil Police by an outsourced employee of the state Procon.

In a report registered on March 14, she said that she was kissed without consent by the then director of the organization. He would have diverted his path while giving her a ride to the State Administrative Center, located in Florianópolis.

“He drove the car to a house in Palhoça, under the allegation of looking for a briefcase. Once there, Roberto asked for a kiss and, when he refused, he grabbed the communicator and gave her a kiss on the mouth”, says the report in the document.

After registration, according to the Civil Police, a second woman posted on social media that she was the victim of a similar situation. The investigation remains confidential.

“As soon as the Civil Police became aware, we already instituted [o inquérito]. Regardless of who it is, we will investigate with all the necessary rigor when cases of sexual abuse in the sphere of public administration are involved, because this is a government flag”, reported regional delegate for Greater Florianópolis Michele Rebelo to NSC.

After the disclosure of the first case and the announcement of his removal from office, Salum’s defense informed on Friday (29) that it would hold a press conference this Tuesday (2), but after the revelation of the second case, it canceled the interview and sent a note, signed by attorney Gastão da Rosa Fillho.

“My client and I became aware of the allegations through the media on Good Friday, in the middle of a public holiday. At the same time, we tried, without success, to contact the police authority responsible for investigating the facts. As of Monday morning, we were still We did not have official access to the BO, we only obtained a copy through the press.

Roberto Salum claims that it all started after he discovered million-dollar embezzlements at Procon-SC and was warned that he would suffer reprisals. He makes himself available to give a statement as soon as he is aware of the full content of the accusation.”

Regarding the reports, the State informed that, upon learning of the complaint of “lack of decorum in the exercise of the function”, it ordered the immediate removal of the then director of Procon-SC.

“The State Governor, upon becoming aware of a complaint whose content refers to the lack of decorum in the exercise of his function by the State Director of PROCON-SC, ordered the immediate removal of the public servant and requested the rapid investigation of the facts. The State Government did not agrees with acts that violate morals and good customs”.
