Amazonas Military Police dismantle explosive device left on sidewalk of police unit

The Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM), through the Explosive Artifact Management Group (Mars), dismantled an explosive device left on the sidewalk of the 28th Community Interactive Company (Cicom), on Tuesday afternoon (02/04).

The incident began when the police team from the 28th Cicom was carrying out routine patrols on Getúlio Vargas Street, when members of the public reported that a man was going to the police station to hand over a supposed explosive device. The material was found on the sidewalk of 28th Cicom.

According to the police officers who responded to the incident, during the police procedures, people reported that the man left the material at that location and left.

Grupo Marte was called to dismantle the explosive device and the case was forwarded to the 28th Integrated Police District (DIP), to identify the suspect who left the material at the location.

The Amazonas Military Police advises the population to report immediately upon becoming aware of any criminal action, via hotline 181 or 190. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
