Rio – From this Wednesday (3), the municipality of Rio will have four more vaccination points against influenza for priority groups – comorbidities and other cases. In addition to the 238 Primary Care units (municipal health centers and family clinics), the population will be able to get immunized at Mercadão and Shopping de Madureira, in the North Zone, at Centro Carioca do Olho, in Benfica, in the same region, and in the Sahara , City center.

In Sahara, the vaccination point will only operate this Wednesday (3), in front of the community radio station – Avenida Passos 91 – from 8am to 4pm. At Mercadão de Madureira, services take place this Wednesday and Friday (5), from 9am to 3pm, and on Saturday, between 8am and 12pm, in front of the escalator on the first floor.

Service at Centro Carioca do Olho began this Wednesday and will be open from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, on the first floor. At Madureira Shopping, the vaccination point will begin activities this Thursday (4) and will operate from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm, on the third floor.

Centro Carioca do Olho is located at Rua General Gustavo Cordeiro de Farias 495, Benfica, and Madureira Shopping is located at Estrada do Portela 222. To get vaccinated, simply show up with an identification document and vaccination booklet, as well as proof of classification as a priority group .

Until May 31, the vaccine will be available to the elderly, children aged six months to 5 years, health and education professionals, pregnant women, postpartum women, among other audiences. People with comorbidities are also part of this preferential audience and will be able to present a self-declaration of their clinical condition. The complete list of priority groups can be accessed on the city hall website.

The initiative by the Municipal Health Department (SMS) aims to expand access and encourage immunization for these people. The D-Day of mobilization for the vaccine will take place on April 13, when SMS will carry out publicity and awareness actions throughout the city. The goal is to immunize more than 1.5 million Rio residents, which represents 90% of the target population.
