Sindipetro Bahia holds an assembly with Telsan workers in Taquipe

Sindipetro Bahia stopped workers from all Telsan contracts in the Petrobrás area in Taquipe this Wednesday morning (3) to hold an informative meeting regarding the company’s current situation, which has been worrying the union and workers due to the constant delays in paying salaries, food and meal tickets, vacation bonuses and even severance pay in cases of dismissal, in addition to the suspension of health plan coverage.

The company did not usually delay payments, but for around two months, including this month of April, it has been adopting this practice that is harmful to workers. The directors of Sindipetro, Radiovaldo Costa, Matos Júnior, Adson Conceição and Jurandir Cruz, who led the meeting, explained that the union has already been talking to Telsan and Petrobrás about the matter, having already notified the two companies, expressing great concern about the that may be happening, as Telsan is also not paying some of its suppliers, such as transportation, for example.

In Bahia, Telsan has several important contracts with Petrobrás, such as field and station operations, which is represented by Sindipetro, and operational support, which is represented by Sintec, employing in total more than a thousand workers who are insecure and apprehensive about the situation. Sindipetro’s objective is for the two unions to work together in defense of the interests of these workers.

Sindipetro will continue to closely monitor this situation and seek dialogue with Petrobrás and Telsan until the problem is resolved.
