By Ana Maria Campos — Research carried out by political scientist Lúcio Rennó is the subject of study and strategies for the opposition to governor Ibaneis Rocha (MDB). The results, recently presented to party leaders, mainly indicate the following: 64.8% believe that the Federal District has not adopted efficient measures to combat femicide; 60.4% said they have already faced or have someone close to them suffering from a lack of beds in public hospitals; 77.3% believe that, with the completion of ongoing road works, the quality of life will increase; 63.6% are in favor of rotating parking lots.

Challenging scenario for the opposition

The scenario for the opposition is considered challenging. The majority of DF voters are conservative; the PT-PV-PCdoB candidate, Leandro Grass, and his vice-president, Olgamir Amancio, were judged ineligible; and a possible strong right-wing candidacy for the Senate emerged: former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL).

Bigger bench

One of the left’s bets is the election of a good bench in the Legislative Chamber, either to help govern from 2027 or to oppose it.

Preservation of Brasilia

Hot topic of the year on the agenda of the Legislative Chamber, the Preservation Plan for the Brasília Urban Complex (PPCub) will have a round of debates in the House, in the format of a general commission. The matter has been dragging on for more than 10 years, but now, the districts are committed to evaluating the Executive’s Complementary Law Project 41/2024, which deals with the topic. The person opening the discussions is deputy Paula Belmonte (Citizenship), who requested the first debate, scheduled for tomorrow, at 3 pm, in the plenary of the Legislative Chamber.

Final word

Federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF) confirmed yesterday, in an interview with CB.Poder, her willingness to run for a term as senator or governor in 2026, alongside former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro. But, according to her, the final word will be from the national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, and former president Jair Bolsonaro.

More services for autistic people

Attorney Cláudia Fernanda de Oliveira, from the Public Ministry of Accounts of the DF, is the author of a representation that requests a plan from the Health Department, with more specialists, to care for people with autism in the public network of the DF. The measure follows yesterday’s anniversary: a day in honor of autistic people.

Tighter traffic

Federal deputy Fred Linhares (Republicanos-DF) presented the bill that proposes to change the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB) to classify as intentional homicide cases in which a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of an accident with death. In justification, the parliamentarian shows that data from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) indicate that in 2021, between the months of January and May alone, more than 1,738 accidents were recorded caused by drivers who were drunk or used drugs. More than 30 people died. The proposal will be assessed by the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJC) of the Chamber of Deputies.

Membership

Representative Rogério Morro da Cruz yesterday signed his membership form for the PRD, a party created from the merger of PTB with Patriotas. As the column showed this Tuesday, the district, elected by the PMN, found his way after months without a party.

To facilitate organ donations and save lives

The Colégio Notarial do Brasil, a national entity that represents the more than 8 thousand notary offices in the country, launched this week the Electronic Authorization for Donation of Organs, Tissues and Human Body Parts (Aedo). The act was created by Provision 164, of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). It works like this: any capable person, over 18 years of age, can generate an authorization for donation, free of charge. A notary of the donor’s choice will issue a digital certificate. The person will then sign the document electronically. Subsequently, the registry office will hold a video conference with this donor, who will confirm the will. Everything will be recorded and saved. At any time, health agencies will check, using the deceased’s CPF, whether he left this authorization. But a legal issue remains: even with the declaration, a relative of the deceased will also have to allow the donation. In any case, the person’s wishes will be recorded.
