Operation carries out 15 search and seizure warrants and six temporary arrest warrants in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro

A Federal Police operation against the action of a criminal organization specializing in vehicle theft complies with at least 21 court orders this Wednesday morning (3/4), in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro.
There are 15 search and seizure warrants and six temporary arrest warrants. The investigations pointed to the activities of a gang specializing in thefts from cars transported in stork trucks, with the crimes generally occurring on roads adjacent to highways that cross the city.
During the investigation, perpetrators and vehicles used to support the thefts were identified. In addition to cars in car parks, the PF points out that the gang also targeted used vehicles parked in supermarket yards or even on public roads.
“Still in the surveys, it was possible to outline the roles of those investigated, which ranged from those carrying out thefts to people responsible for “guarding” the vehicles and possible receivers”.
One of the identified targets is already known to the police for committing vehicle thefts and was arrested red-handed in the last theft, which occurred on March 21, 2024, when he was monitored with an electronic ankle bracelet.
“It is estimated that the gang under investigation caused losses of approximately R$2 million to the victims. The suspects are being investigated for committing the crimes of theft, receiving stolen goods, tampering with vehicle identification signs and criminal association, with combined sentences potentially exceeding twenty years in prison.”
