The couple arrested by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco-BA) last Saturday, the 31st, weighing around 28 kg, on a cruise ship that was moored at the Port of Ilhéus, were ‘aviazinho’ of one of the biggest criminal factions from the country. On Monday, the 1st, after a custody hearing, the duo was released by the courts.

According to information from a reporting source, linked to the police forces that carried out the arrest, the suspects were identified as Michael Douglas de Azevedo and Luana Ferreira de Araújo. They boarded in Rio de Janeiro and were destined for the city of Barcelona, Spain. This reinforces the suspicion that the duo would be sent from the Rio faction called Comando Vermelho (CV), with a large presence in the state of Rio and one of the main ‘exporters’ of cocaine to the old continent.
The narcotic substances were hidden in hidden compartments (false bottoms) of 4 suitcases and were identified during luggage inspection with a scanner (x-ray) and detection dog. After the arrest, the prisoners were taken to the Federal Police Station in Ilhéus and went to the state prison system in Itabuna.
