PORTS OF BAHIA WILL RECEIVE INVESTMENTS IN THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE SAYS PRESIDENT OF CODEBA

In an interview with Grupo A Tarde, the CEO of Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia (Codeba), Antonio Gobbo, announced improvement actions at the port authority, present in Salvador, Ilhéus and Aratu-Candeias. Among them, budget execution for investments in land and maritime infrastructure and contractual administration.

“Today we have the ports of Salvador, Aratu-Candeias and Ilhéus, which are emblematic in Brazil, and which have the possibility of becoming large logistics hubs and playing a much more important role in development. It plays a fundamental role in Bahia’s economy”, points out the CEO.

Also according to Gobbo, infrastructure measures must be carried out by improving the company’s planning, strategic and tactical logistics actions in cargo transport. “This should allow better contracts to be signed, budget execution to be better carried out and to return the investments in infrastructure that are required with the quality necessary to maintain a high level of efficiency. We are going to increase the efficiency of ports and, for this, planning and good management are necessary”, he explains.

Codeba also announced its participation in the Bahia Farm Show 2024, one of the largest agricultural technology events in the state. According to the president, the company is participating in events that enable investments based on the expansion of the sale of ports. “Bahia Farm Show is an emblematic event. In fact, the port authority has to sell the ports in Bahia. It is important that Bahian production can be expanded through ports, so in this sense, we are seeing mining events abroad, international logistical events, all aimed at the sale of Bahian port assets in Brazil and abroad”, explains Gobbo.
