Two people were arrested and 11 firearms seized during a joint police operation in Juazeiro, northern Bahia, in the Serra da Batateira region. The action took place on Tuesday (2) and led to the seizure of revolvers, a submachine gun, shotguns and revolvers.
According to police information, the weapons were used in homicides in the region and the group is suspected of killing a man in the Argamiro neighborhood, in Juazeiro, last Sunday (31).
A vehicle was also seized during the operation.
Among the weapons seized are a 7.62 caliber rifle, a 9mm caliber submachine gun, three 12 and 28 caliber shotguns, three 9mm and 380 caliber pistols, three 38 caliber revolvers, magazines and ammunition. A vehicle and quantities of drugs were also found at the scene.
The two suspects and the materials were presented at the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP/Juazeiro).
The operation was a joint action by the Independent Specialized Policing Company (CIPE) Caatinga and the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP/Juazeiro).
