This Wednesday the “Mobility for Diversity” campaign will be launched, the result of an agreement between the Rio City Council’s Secretariat for Inclusion and Religious Diversity and the Brazilian Mobility and Technology Association (Amobitec) and its associates (99, iFood, Lalamove and Uber). The action aims to promote respect for religious, racial, gender and political diversity. Taxi.Rio, a municipal taxi app, is also part of the campaign.

  • Under Suspect: Police officers and businessman suspected of theft of a cigarette machine in the City of Police are targets of operation
  • Marielle Franco case: Errors in the investigation into the murders of the councilwoman and driver Anderson began on the night of the crime

During the campaign, messages will be sent to drivers and delivery partners and app users. There will be information related to combating discrimination and promoting respect for religious tolerance. The action will highlight that prejudice is a crime.

— We aim to integrate the essence of respect and tolerance into the everyday life of our community. This project is not just a fight against discrimination, but a step forward in valuing the religious, racial and gender diversity that defines our Rio — says Sergio Fernandes, municipal secretary of Inclusion and Religious Diversity.

Amobitec’s executive director, André Porto, highlights that among the association’s objectives is economic and social development in a healthy, ethical and efficient way.

— The capillarity inherent in the service of transporting passengers and goods through applications makes it possible to disseminate among the population the concepts of tolerance to diversity, which are so important for coexistence in a more harmonious society — he argues.
