Botafogo is once again the target of debt collection. This time, the one charging the Rio team in court is São Paulo, which is questioning the team over the values ​​of the negotiation of midfielder Tchê Tchê, which took place in 2022.

According to GE, Tricolor charges Glorioso around R$3.7 million for the acquisition of the midfielder, one of the players hired in the first wave of SAF negotiations led by John Textor. This debt has already been recognized by the black and white team, according to the information.

In 2022, Botafogo purchased 70% of the economic rights of Tchê Tchê from São Paulo for R$4.8 million. The value obtained a series of reductions that involved other players. Erison, who was loaned by Fogão to Tricolor at the beginning of 2023, was one of the athletes whose negotiations led to this reduction

Balances resulting from negotiations involving striker Henrique Almeida and goalkeeper Lucas Perri, both of whom are no longer at General Severiano, were also deducted. Glorioso managed to pay the first payments, but these ceased and, therefore, the charge was made by SPFC.

The action filed by the São Paulo people began this Monday (1/4) and Botafogo has already communicated about the process, commenting on the matter in a note sent to the press.

“Justice is a common way to reconcile divergent parties in agreements. Botafogo believes that it will reach a compromise with São Paulo, which is a historic partner”, says the text.
