The 1st Symposium of the Teaching Center for Educational Accessibility and Permanence (Naep) of the Faculty of Music of Espírito Santo (Fames) will take place from April 24th to 26th, with the theme “Diversities of (in) making music: the right to be and exist”.

The objective of the event is to enhance strategies that guarantee conditions of accessibility, educational permanence and affirmative actions at college, for indigenous students, Afro-Brazilians, women, LGBTQIAP+, people in situations of social risk and refuge, among others.

During the three days, round tables, conferences, workshops, soirees and musical performances will be held. “The symposium program aims to result in actions that can offer continued training for teachers, in addition to pedagogical and psychosocial support for teachers and students”, says the coordinator of Naep, professor Ana Carolina dos Santos Martins.

Interested parties must complete the online registration form. 50 places will be offered to the general public and 80 places for teachers and students on Fames’ bachelor’s and undergraduate courses. The total duration of the event is 30 hours.

The full symposium program is available on the Fames website.

The Educational Accessibility and Permanence Center, Naep, is responsible for developing actions to adapt the teaching and learning of music to people with specific educational needs, ensuring accessibility and educational permanence for students with physical and intellectual disabilities, in addition to all diversity groups, such as indigenous people, Afro-Brazilians, gender and sexuality groups, people in refugee situations, among others.
