Company of the Year Award

Until the 19th, registration will be open for the Company of the Year Award (PEA – Cycle 2024) from the Maranhão Commercial Association (ACM). Companies that are part of the entity’s membership can qualify at https://acess.one/79ZrF). Participation criteria require that corporations must have been operating in Maranhão for more than five years and be associated with the entity for at least six months.

The award, considered the most traditional in the state, is divided into three categories:

Micro and Small Business
Medium Company
Big company.

All regulations and details of the registration process are available on the portal www.acm-ma.com.br. The PEA has existed for 37 years and has gone through decades of reformulations, the most recent of which, during the administration of President Cristiano Barroso Fernandes, is that companies are awarded awards in the current year.

Defense of Women

In observance of women’s month, the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai-MA) held, on March 25th and 26th, the lecture “Maria da Penha Law and feminicide: struggles and female rights”, in the auditorium of the Professional Education Center and Tecnológica Raimundo Franco Teixeira (CEPT RFT), in the Monte Castelo neighborhood.

The event was a valuable opportunity for students to understand in greater depth the nuances surrounding the law governing violence against women. Senai invited criminal lawyer Maria Fernanda Mesquita to teach the content during the two days of the event, from 8am to 5pm.

Oil exploration

The specialist in Politics and Industry at the National Industry Observatory, which is part of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Danilo Severian, gave a presentation on the economic impact simulator with oil exploration on the Brazilian equatorial margin.

The meeting was held at the Legislative Assembly of Maranhão (Alema), with the presence of the president of the House’s Economic Affairs Committee, state deputy Júlio Mendonça, state deputy Cláudio Cunha and the coordinator of the Maranhão Industry Observatory, Carlos Jorge Taborda.

Meeting at Fecomércio

Inspirar Sunset, a happy hour promoted by the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of Maranhão (Fecomércio-MA), Tuesday (April 26), brought together several local entrepreneurs to discuss market trends, share experiences and address the female leadership.

Social action

Around 500 children and teenagers from São Luís and Porto Franco received boxes of chocolate candies collected with the support of VLI volunteer committees, through the VLI Solidária project.

It offers integrated logistics services in railway and port operations and connections with terminals, following a multimodal system. In this way, it transports Brazil’s wealth along routes that pass through the North, Northeast, Southeast and Central-West regions. In the capital, 310 children and adolescents aged 15 benefited.

Export from Maranhão

Exporta Mais Brasil 2024 continues this Tuesday (02), at Palácio Henrique de La Roque, in the Calhau neighborhood, in São Luís, an event aimed at the leather and tanning sector.

The event, which opened this Monday, aims to present foreign trade opportunities for Maranhão businesspeople. With support from the State Government, it is a promotion by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
