Union member Conceição Mondini took second place in the Off Flip 2024 Award, with the chronicle “Bacalhau com potatoes ao murro”. The colleague, working at the Federal Court of Rio Grande, is a student of the creative writing and poetry workshops at Sintrajufe/RS.
This was Conceição’s second participation in Off Flip. In 2023, she had a poem among the finalists; the chronicle was his first award in a literary competition. “On both occasions, I entered short stories, chronicles and poetry, that is, I participated in all categories of the competition and all texts were selected for publication”, says Conceição. The collection will be launched later this year, at the Paraty Literary Festival (Flip), and will be available in physical and digital formats.
Conceição says that the result left her “very happy and quite surprised, with a joy that I immediately wanted to share with family, friends, colleagues and the teachers from the Sintrajufe/RS workshops, Caio Riter and Ronald Augustus. It was good to feel everyone’s affection, especially because the text has a special meaning: it was a tribute to the memory of a dear person.”
She highlights that the workshop operators are “excellent professionals, very prepared and very qualified. They make classes and interactions always pleasant and productive.” According to Conceição, the cultural workshops are “an excellent initiative by the union and a wonderful and enriching opportunity for coexistence between union members and other participants” and highlights that there are several students who publish books, individual and collections, many receiving awards
