Jarbas Filho comes out in defense of milk producers in Pernambuco – Blog da Folha

State deputy Jarbas Filho (MDB) used his social networks to celebrate decree No. 56,323, recently published by the State Government, which guarantees benefits to the Pernambuco milk chain. The matter could be a stimulus for the production and commercialization of milk and its derivatives, thus contributing to the generation of employment and income, in addition to the quality products produced in the state.

“The decree from the Government of Pernambuco is a big step taken for local dairy farmers and producers, who today represent 30% of our state’s agriculture sector. A necessary boost for production to continue happening and for milk and its derivatives produced on Pernambuco soil to be the main ones to be sold,” he stated.

However, the parliamentarian highlighted that much still needs to be done for local milk producers and family farmers, who face difficulties mainly related to fiscal policies. “Thousands of producers continue to face adversities such as the weather, low prices and unfavorable tax policies, creating losses for dozens of municipalities in the countryside and hinterland that have milk as their main product, such as Buíque, Itaíba, Bodocó and Exu”.

“In our mandate, we are committed to defending producers and family farmers with dedication, seeking to change this harmful situation for local production, which faces unfair competition, including tax and import inequalities”, stated the deputy.
