Mato Grosso has a reduction in energy tariffs starting this month :: Agribusiness News

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) announced this Tuesday (2) the approval of the annual adjustment of energy tariffs in Mato Grosso. The tariff will have an average reduction of 4.40%, coming into force next Monday (8).

According to Aneel, the adjustment calculation follows the rules established in the concession contracts. The biggest contribution to the reduction came from Energisa Mato Grosso, with -2.69%, followed by the financial components of the year, with -2.13%.

For consumers in Group A, which include medium and high voltage, the average reduction will be -5.61%, while for those connected to Low Voltage, such as homes and businesses, the effect will be -3.90%. Energisa Mato Grosso currently serves around 1.65 million customers.

The company’s CEO, Gabriel Alves Pereira Jnior, highlighted that the tariff price reflects austere and planned work, seeking balance between customers and investors. He highlighted that Energisa is one of the largest groups in the country’s electricity sector and is investing R$1.2 billion in the state in 2024. Of this total, approximately R$400 million will be allocated to expanding networks and building seven new substations, in addition to increased distribution capacity in another 24.
