Security cameras captured the moment when a man shoots the defendant several times during a jury trial at the São José do Belmonte Forum, in the Sertão of Pernambuco. The crime took place on November 29, 2023, but the images were only released last Monday (1/4).

The author was identified as Cristiano Alves Terto. In the video, he was sitting next to a woman. Then, he gets up and the girl next to him tries to stop him, but she can’t. He shoots towards the defendant.
The defendant, identified as Francisco Cleidivaldo Mariano de Moura, was on trial for the murder of Cristiano’s father. When he hears the shots, he tries to protect himself, however, he is hit by bullets and also by butts to the head.
According to the Pernambuco Military Police, Cristiano was arrested and a 38-caliber revolver was seized.
“The victim, the defendant Francisco Cleidivaldo Mariano de Moura, is alive and free; the jury has not been reconvened and a new date has not been assigned yet. The shooter, identified as Cristiano Alves Terto, is under arrest. The attempted murder committed by Cristiano Alves Terto is already being judged”, the Pernambuco Court of Justice (TJPE) announced in a note.
