Man flees from oncoming car, causes accidents and crashes vehicle with daughter in SC

A man was arrested red-handed after fleeing a police barrier on the wrong side of the BR-101 in Itajaí, on the coast of Santa Catarina. During the escape, which occurred on Monday afternoon (1st), it caused collisions and an overturn, only stopping the vehicle when it collided with a wall.

The man’s 12-year-old daughter was inside the car and was injured. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) found 240 kilos of marijuana in the vehicle (watch above).

The escape began when the car, with license plates from Urussanga, in the south of Santa Catarina, disobeyed a stop order and entered the forecourt of a gas station.

Then, on Rodovia Antônio Heil, the driver continued at high speed in the opposite direction of the road, traveling along the shoulder and main lane.

After causing at least two collisions and another vehicle overturning, the fugitive hit a postal truck, lost control and stopped when he hit the central wall. When approaching the car, police found the man’s daughter injured.

The girl was taken to a health unit with a broken nose, while the suspect, with a cut on his head, was taken to emergency care for stitches. The Guardianship Council was called.

Inside the car, police found 27 bales of marijuana. In testimony, the man claimed that he would deliver the drugs to Criciúma.

There were no victims in the accidents caused by the driver, the PRF reported. A report made by the agents must detail the dynamics of the escape and the damage.
