Santa Catarina businessman Álvaro Schwegler died after a motorcycle accident in Peru this Monday (1st). He was with his wife, Jane Schwegler, who was discharged after hospital care, according to information from family members.

A death was confirmed by the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (Fiesc), who lamented the loss in a released statement. There is still no information about the wake. Details about the dynamics of the accident were also not disclosed.

Schwegler was one of the directors of the company Esquadrias Schwegler, headquartered in Porto União, in the north of the state.

He also had business in Paranáwhere he worked to support victims during the flooding of the Iguaçu River in União da Vitória (PR)in 2023, and was part of the board of the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL).

In a note of condolence released, Fiesc said that Álvaro was an example of work.

“It was an example of work and perseverance, actively contributing to the Schwegler Group generating jobs, development and conquering international markets, with a presence in 12 countries”, wrote the president of Fiesc, Mario Cezar de Aguiar.

The city council of União da Vitória (PR) also complained about the businessman’s death and stated that during the Schwegler “he spared no efforts to collaborate with the population of our municipality” during the flood the previous year.

“The Municipality of União da Vitória expresses its deepest regret at the death of Álvaro Schwegler that occurred this Monday, 1. Álvaro, was a businessman in Vale do Iguaçu, known for his work at Esquadrias Schwegler, recently inaugurated together with his brother Maurício the São Cristóvão Shopping Center”, wrote the municipality.

Esquadrias Schwegler has been founded for over 80 years. The industry is dedicated to the production of smooth doors and internal cushions, in addition to other investments in Porto União and União da Vitória.
