Almost all of Bahia is on yellow alert from Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology) for intense rain, valid, in principle, until 10 am on Wednesday (3). The initial forecast indicates rain between 20 and 30mm/h or up to 50mm/day, with also intense winds between 40-60 km/h. There is a low risk of falling tree branches and power outages, according to the institute.
The capital of Bahia is already facing problems with heavy rains during the early hours of the morning. According to the coordinator of Civil Defense of Salvador (Codesal), Sosthenes Macêdo, the heavy rains and thunderstorms that occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday were caused by the formation of an associated Mesoscale Convective Complex (CCM).

“The forecast is that we wouldn’t have so much rain in such a short space of time. The biggest trend was that we would experience the biggest accumulation on Saturday and Sunday”, said the secretary to g1.
At the other end of the state, Formosa do Rio Preto, a city in the extreme west of Bahia, the sky remains cloudy this Tuesday (2). At first, according to Inmet, the temperature varies between 22 and 32 °C, with the possibility of isolated rain. Until next Tuesday (6) the temperature is expected to drop, with maximums around 29 °C and minimums of 19 °C.
In Luís Eduardo Magalhães, in the west of the state, Tuesday will also be marked by isolated rain showers and thunderstorms and the maximum humidity reaching 100%, while the maximum remains at 29 °C and the minimum at 22 °C. Barreiras, in the same region, has temperatures of 21 °C to 32 °C, according to the same institute.
Inmet reported that it continues to monitor weather conditions. The institute reinforces the importance of daily monitoring of weather forecast updates and issuing special warnings on the portal.
According to the main international weather forecast models, volumes may exceed 100 millimeters in some locations, however, some areas of the state may receive volumes below 10 millimeters.
Meanwhile, the maximum reaches 32 ° C in Bom Jesus da Lapa.
