Campo Grande dawned this Tuesday (2) with heavy fog. The recorded cloud cover continued thickly across the capital’s sky throughout the morning. The forecast indicates unstable weather for much of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Climatempo meteorologist Guilherme Borges explained that heavy fog occurs on days with less cloudiness. Since, during the night, the air temperature close to the ground decreases, causing the air to cool.
“When this cooled air comes into contact with humidity present on the surface, such as areas close to rivers or lakes, the water present in the air condenses and forms water droplets, resulting in fog. Therefore, on days with less cloudiness, the Air cooling during the night can contribute to the formation of fog in the early hours of the morning”, explains the expert.
Throughout the day, rain of varying intensity is expected, from light to moderate, with the possibility of localized storms, accompanied by lightning and gusts of wind.
Atmospheric instabilities are attributed to the action of an area of low atmospheric pressure, combined with the availability of humidity, as the expert explains.
As for temperatures, they should range between 20°C and 34°C. The prevailing winds will be with estimated speeds of up to 60 km/h in much of the state.

- In the south, southeast and east regions of the State, the minimum forecast is 20°C, with a maximum reaching 30°C;
- In the southwest and Pantanal regions, the minimum can reach 24°C, with maximums of up to 33°C;
- In the north and Bolsão, the minimum temperatures must be 22°C, reaching a maximum of 34°C;
- In the capital Campo Grande, a day with a minimum of 21°C and a maximum of 30°C is expected.
