Brazilian industry has achieved 174,918 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in March 2024. The result is 5.7% lower compared to the same month last year, when 185,404 units were sold. The data was released by the consultancy JATO do Brasil.

Even though the number of registrations is lower compared to 2023, the new car sales grew 12.8% compared to February 2023. That month, 154,388 units were sold, according to the consultancy.

The Volkswagen Polo, which recently gained an exclusive version for direct sales, was the most sold car in Brazil with 11,943 units. In second place comes the Fiat Strada with 9,990 copies sold. The Chevrolet Onix is ​​the third most sold car in Brazil, with 7,753 records.

Despite Volkswagen having temporarily halted production of the T-Cross in São José dos Pinhais (PR) to update it, the SUV still appears very prominently among the best sellers and is the category leader. In total, they were registered 5,462 units.

In its first month officially on sale in Brazil, the BYD Dolphin Mini has already sold 2,469 units. This result was enough to surpass traditional cars such as the Toyota Yaris, Hyundai HB20S and Peugeot 208.
