The Ministry of the Civil House highlighted this Monday (1st), during an event held in Bahia, the Federal Government’s commitment to improving services that care for people who need it most and improve cities in the interior of the state. The minister, Rui Costa, alongside minister Renan Filho, participated in the delivery of the last section of the paving works on BR-235 (BA), known as Rodovia do Vaqueiro.
“In addition to these infrastructure works, we are bringing two very important pieces of equipment to this region through the New PAC: a regional polyclinic to serve and be closer to the population and increase the number of exams; and a federal education institute”, stated Rui Costa. “These are devices that take care of people’s lives, their health, their education, their future.”
According to information from the GOV Agency, the interventions were carried out in a 45-kilometer long segment and were completed within the New PAC. R$117 million were invested for a benefit that reaches more than two million people.
At the event, a new service order was also signed, for the asphalt paving of 12 kilometers of BR-020, which will facilitate interconnection with Piauí; and authorization of the basic project for asphalting 25 kilometers of BR-235, which connects the city of Campo Alegre de Lourdes to Caracol (PI).
The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, spoke to the region’s population about the importance of federal investments. “It means a great advance for the regions. It’s more opportunity for everyone to help develop the region. It’s bringing opportunities to those who don’t have it, it’s thinking about the big, but it’s about thinking about the small. With President Lula’s government, investments happen and dreams come true”, stated Renan Filho.
The event took place in the city of Campo Alegre de Lourdes, in the north of the state, with the participation of senator Jaques Wagner and governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, as well as deputies, mayors and councilors from nearby cities.
