Tocantins generates 2,273 jobs in February, according to Caged

Data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), released by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), indicate that in Tocantins the result was positive in all sectors evaluated. In February, there were 2,273 new formal positions in the state, the year to date shows a balance of 3,678.

According to data from Caged, in the state, in February, there were 12,358 admissions against 10,085 dismissals, which generated a positive balance of 2,273 new jobs.

In the division by municipalities, the capital Palmas had the largest balance in February, with 661 new vacancies with a formal contract. Following the five municipalities with the highest balance are Araguaína (383), Porto Nacional (220), Formoso do Araguaia (122) and Lagoa da Confusao (114).

The Secretary of Labor and Social Development (Setas), Jonis Calaça, highlights that the numbers related to the job market in Tocantins have shown constant growth and invites everyone from Tocantins to keep their registration with the National Employment System – Sine updated and enjoy free professional training and guidance, which is made available in the institution’s units, to fill the job opportunities that are emerging.

Sectors that employed the most in Tocantins

The highlight in Tocantins in the month of February was Commerce, with a balance of 635 positions. Agriculture had a positive result of 385. Next come Services (+253) and Construction (+171).

January and February accumulated

In the accumulated period for January and February 2024, the State of Tocantins occupies the 3rd position with the most employment in the northern region of the country, (absolute value). In the first two months, the state of Tocantins recorded a positive balance of 3,678 formal vacancies, resulting in 23,700 admissions and 20,000 dismissals.
