Crater blocks section of Avenida Prudente de Morais in Natal | large northern river

A crater opened and blocked a section of Avenida Prudente de Morais, in Natal, at the height of the cable-stayed viaduct.

According to the Natal Urban Mobility Secretariat (STTU), traffic is closed from Avenida Jerônimo Câmara towards Centro-Candelária.

Mobility agents were called to guide drivers. Vehicles are diverted via Avenida Jerônimo Câmara and Rua Jaguarari.

The crater opened because of a leak in Caern’s distribution network. According to the Company, the avenue was closed for emergency maintenance. The estimated duration of the service was not announced.

Due to the service, the water supply is suspended to Nova Descoberta, Morro Branco, Bom Pastor, Nazaré, Dix-Sept Rosado, Alecrim, Quintas, Bairro Nordeste, Lagoa Nova and Lagoa Seca.
