Having Casemiro as inspiration is natural. In addition to being one of the best midfielders in the world, winning two World Cups, the player also left Cotia before becoming one of the legends of Real Madrid and, later, moving to Manchester United, another European giant.

“Cotia is my second home, for all the years I lived there. Thank God, I was able to make the best use of the structure and professionals there. It was certainly very important for my career. As we always talked, I and my family, the opportunity had appeared and many kids wanted to be there in my place. If I have this opportunity, I can’t let it pass. So, every day I tried to be better, to give my all, to make it all worth it” , he continued.

Following a path similar to Casemiro’s seemed like a distant dream for Pablo Maia until recently. Today no more. An absolute starter for São Paulo and having already played two games for the Brazilian national team, the midfielder has plenty of reasons to hope for a bright future.

After the friendlies for the national team against England, at Wembley, and Spain, at the Santiago Bernabéu, Pablo Maia is expected to return to the field for São Paulo next Thursday (4), when the team debuts in the Copa Libertadores against Talleres, in Córdoba , in Argentine. After the unprecedented titles of the Copa do Brasil and Supercopa Rei, the midfielder now aims to lift the trophy in the most important tournament in South America.
