Renovation of the Children’s Home in Teresina has 80% of the services completed

The State Secretariat for Infrastructure (Seinfra) has already carried out 80% of the renovation works at Lar da Criança Maria João de Deus, in Teresina. Work began in September 2023 and entered the final stretch, with an accelerated pace of execution. The interventions are part of the Pact for Children of Piauí program. In total, approximately R$6 million will be invested by the State Government, through Seinfra.

The forecast is that, at the beginning of the second quarter of 2024, the work will be completed and then the space will be handed over to the population. So far, changes have been made to the roof, part of the floor and the construction of the new block foreseen in the initial project, as well as the modernization of the electrical and hydraulic part. Now work is focused on building the toy library, facade and landscaping of the space.

“I have been following the progress of this reform. She means a lot to the children in care and, because of that, deserves our attention. We enter the final stretch with work focused on the new facade, the building’s leisure area and adjustments. Even with the rain, the construction site did not stop and we continued to comply with the schedule set out in the project”, highlights the Secretary of Infrastructure, Flávio Júnior.

According to Heitor Moura, the engineer responsible for carrying out the work, the work continues as expected, without unforeseen events. “Since the project was created, we knew that this work would be complex. This is the first time that the space has received a complete renovation of this scale, and we will leave everything in the best possible shape and with quality. Here we have already carried out most of the work. We started the facade of the building, which will be grilled, with a new paint job, leaving the environment completely playful”, says the professional.
