Reflecting the commitment to providing clear and accessible information on state finances, the Treasury Department (Sefaz), through the State Treasury Subsecretariat, promoted, this Thursday (28), the publication of the Budget Execution Summary Report (RREO ) referring to the 1st two months of 2024.
Provided for in articles 52 and 53 of the Fiscal Responsibility Law (LRF), the RREO is a tool that offers a comprehensive and detailed view of the State’s revenues and expenses. In the first two months of 2024, total revenues reached R$4.3 billion, while total expenses totaled R$3 billion, generating a budget surplus, in the two months, of R$1.3 billion. The primary result, which represents the difference between non-financial revenues and expenses, was a surplus of R$225 million in the two months.
The information was presented at a meeting at Palácio Anchieta, in Vitória, with the presence of the State governor, Renato Casagrande; the Secretary of State for Finance, tax auditor Benicio Costa; the Government Secretary of State, Maria Emanuela Alves Pedroso; the undersecretary and consultant of the State Treasury, Daniel Corrêa; the State General Accounting manager and State Treasury consultant, Alan Johanson; and other managers of the State Treasury Undersecretariat.
“By making this information available in a clear and accessible way, Sefaz not only complies with its legal obligations, but also strengthens democracy, by allowing citizens to closely monitor how public money is being used”, highlighted the State Revenue auditor and Secretary of State for Finance, Benicio Costa, remembering that the State received, in 2023, Grade A in the Ranking of the Quality of Accounting and Fiscal Information in the Public Sector, prepared by the National Treasury Secretariat (STN). The Ranking verifies the accuracy, integrity, quality and consistency of the accounting, budgetary and fiscal information and data of federated entities.
The State Treasury’s undersecretary and consultant, Daniel Corrêa, also highlighted the relevance of the RREO for the purposes of social control. “By providing detailed data on the execution of the state budget, Sefaz not only demonstrates its responsibility towards society, but also facilitates the analysis and monitoring of government policies and actions”, he highlighted.
