The federal deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR) filed on Wednesday night, 27th, a request for information addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He requests that the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) explain a series of questions related to the visit of the President of France, Emmanuel Macronto Brazil.

In the document, the opposition member in Chamber of Deputies requests that the agreements signed between the Brazil and the France are made available in full, in addition to the technical studies that motivated the creation of these terms.
“Thanks to Lula’s diplomatic dwarfism, national sovereignty runs the risk of being exchanged for a walk hand in hand through the forest,” said Barros, on his Twitter/X profile. “Macron would not stay in Brazil for three days in exchange for a book photography in the jungle. We need to understand the interests involved in the visit.”
He also asks the federal government to explain the practical and legal effects of the negotiations and asks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an estimate of when the agreement messages will be sent to the National Congress.
Macron’s trip
Emmanuel Macron arrived in Brazil on Tuesday 26th and visited the Amazon Rainforest with Lula. The Frenchman’s agenda also includes trips to Belém, Itaguaí (RJ), São Paulo and Brasília.
In Belém, Macron admitted that the Amazon Forest is a target of greed and announced a program that intends to invest €1 billion (R$5 billion) in the bioeconomy of the Brazilian Amazon and French Guiana, France’s overseas territory in South America.

Emmanuel Macron’s first visit to the country also generated memes on social media because of the photos of Lula and the French president. The photos of the meeting caught the attention of internet users, who even compared the images to a pre-wedding photo shoot.
