It’s not long before we get to know the new national Volkswagen T-Cross. With almost five years on the market, the compact SUV already has a date to receive its first restyling. It will be on May 16th, arriving at the German brand’s dealerships by the beginning of June. The new VW T-Cross should get visual changes and finishing improvements.

On the outside, the news will follow the European T-Cross, which was renewed in July last year. At the front, the LED headlights will be new, and will feature IQ.Light technology, at least in the top-of-the-line versions. The bumper will also have new lines, with redesigned air intakes. On the side, the only new feature should be the wheels with a new design.

At the rear, the T-Cross will have a new bumper, and the LED headlight should gain “X” shaped elements like the European SUV. Inside, the finish will have better materials and fits, and should even have a vinyl strip in the central part. The multimedia will be highlighted from the panel, with a floating style.

Under the hood, the current 1.0 TSI with 128 hp and the 1.4 TSI with 150 hp must be kept in line. In all of them, the transmission will be the same 6-speed automatic that currently equips the T-Cross. However, the entry-level Sense version should gain the Polo’s 1.0 170 TSI engine, which offers 116 hp and is more economical.

In the future, the T-Cross should also be one of the brand’s first national cars to be equipped with the new 1.5 TSI Evo2 engine, which will have more technology and different levels of hybridization. In any case, Volkswagen’s best-selling SUV will have a busy life in the coming months in Brazil.
