Atlético tries to maintain the momentum under the command of Gabriel Milito this Saturday (26/4), at 6:30 pm, when they face Cuiabá at Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá. O On Attack Below, we provide the main information about the game in the third round of the Brazilian Championship: where to watch, probable lineups, absences, refereeing and more.

The home team is going through the worst phase in 2024. After 20 undefeated games and the state championship title, Dourado has not won in four matches, is bottom of Serie A and has not scored points in two games.

In addition to overcoming the bad phase, Cuiabá is trying to beat Atlético for the first time in history. There are five wins for the Black and Whites and one draw in six games since 2021.

Galo, in turn, has not yet lost to Milito and is on a streak of three draws and five wins. The last of them was on Tuesday, when the team beat Peñarol-URU 3-2 at Arena MRV, in the third round of Group G of the Copa Libertadores.

The Minas Gerais team is in seventh place in the Brazilian Championship, with five points – two less than leader RB Bragantino.

Cuiabá x Atlético: where to watch live

The match between Dourado and Galo will be broadcast on the TV Globo subscription channel.

Cuiabá x Atlético: the likely lineups

Cuiabá has three absences for the match and has three returns. Absent in the last game, Alan Empereur recovered from a blow to the head and is expected to start the match against Atlético. Left-back Ramon is also available to coach Luiz Fernando Iubel, but will be a reserve.

Striker Deyverson could also return to the starting lineup, but will compete for position with Pitta. The player was removed from two games for “disciplinary reasons”, but participated in the team’s last training sessions normally.

Cuiabá

  • Cuiabá lineup: Walter; Matheus Alexandre, Marllon, Bruno Alves, Alan Empereur and Rikelme; Denilson and Fernando Sobral; Cafú, Clayson and Pitta (Deyverson)
  • Hanging from Cuiabá: There is not
  • Cuiabá absences: Filipe Augusto (muscle pain), Lucas Mineiro (muscle pain) and Max (muscle injury to the right thigh)

Athletic

Atlético’s lineup is unknown, but there should be changes. Coach Gabriel Milito admitted that there is a need to rest some athletes after Galo’s 3-2 victory over Peñarol, on Tuesday, at Arena MRV, in the Copa Libertadores.

“We will have to analyze deeply to decide the next game. Who will be the best players to be able to play? The effort this team makes is huge, and the Brazilian football calendar does not exist anywhere in South America and almost nowhere in the world. But these players are used to playing, playing and playing. These are players who have the habit, as this happens every season,” he said.

Against Cuiabá, the players most likely to be spared are, naturally, those with the highest minutes – with the exception of goalkeeper Everson. In a hypothetical scenario, pieces such as Arana, Saravia, Paulinho and Jemerson can be preserved. Hulk was not related.

Atlético does not have an immediate reserve at left-back, which leaves doubt as to who Arana’s possible replacement would be. The biggest possibility is that Gustavo Scarpa will play in the sector, and Alisson will enter as a right winger, in the role of midfielder.

  • Atlético lineup: Everson; Mariano (Saravia), Battaglia, Jemerson (Mauricio Lemos) and Guilherme Arana (Bruno Fuchs or Alisson); Otávio, Alan Franco, Gustavo Scarpa and Zaracho; Paulinho (Cadu) and Vargas
  • Atlético’s Hanging: There is not
  • Atlético absences: Rubens (left knee sprain) and Paulo Vitor (left ankle ligament rupture)

Cuiabá x Atlético: the characters

  • Guilherme Arana, Atlético left-back: “It’s a fact that has been bothering us, the second half. It’s a recent work that is having a lot of success, good things, in such a short time, with a new coach. Happy for the moment. It is normal that some adjustments are missing, as the work is recent. It’s good to adjust when you’re winning. Happy with the phase. The second half bothers us, us players, and the committee always guides us. We are dropping a little compared to our first half, but we will adjust”

Cuiabá x Atlético: arbitration

  • Referee: Sávio Pereira Sampaio (DF)
  • Assistants: Lehi Sousa Silva and Daniel Henrique da Silva Andrade (DF)
  • VAR: José Cláudio Rocha Filho (FIFA-SP)
