A Universal Pictures and the Monkeypaw Productions by Jordan Peele have announced their next project, officially titled Him. The film will be released in theaters on September 19, 2025. The film will star Marlon Wayansin The Branquleaswill combine elements of a classic sports and football film with horror, according to Collider.

There is still little information about the project, but it should focus on a legendary, but aging, quarterback starter of a football team and a promising young player (Tyriq Withers) who is invited to train at Wayans’ character’s isolated compound. The film “is a chilling journey into the sanctuary of fame, power and the pursuit of excellence at any cost,” says Universal.

In addition to Wayans and Withers, Him will also star Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jeffrieship-hop phenomena Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack.

Jordan Peele will produce the film, directed by Justin Tippingknown for his work on the Netflix comedy series, Dear White People. The script was written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, known for their work on the science fiction series Limetown.

Peele, whose career before he began directing thrillers and horror films was devoted to comedy (he was one of the stars and writers of Key & Peele on Comedy Central), was nominated for several Oscars with Run!his 2017 hit.
